This is Michael and I after one of his boxing matches..he won! |
I have a goal of reaching 300 followers on my blog by the end of August. Of course I want it to be fun so I am having my first ever contest/giveaway. For every 10 new followers there will be a winner. If you follow and have ever left a comment you are in. 1 point for following and 1 point for every comment. (I will only count one comment per post). It is that easy. If you want to up your chances send a new follower my way and have them let me know you sent them in a comment and you will earn 5 extra points and so will they. I am so exited as this will hopefully happen around the same time I receive big book news!

I really am quite fragmented this week; so much going on and so much to do and guess what I did yesterday? I went Christmas shopping (please do not hate me but with 11 grand kids I have to do it this way).
**********************************************************************************
I am also enjoying my time with Blogger's over 40. Java also hosts a Friday Follow which you can find here:

We have great news to share; my husbands niece Kate who is also a writer and actually the one that inspired me to create my blog HAS FINALLY LANDED AN AGENT!! We are all so proud of her and you all should hop over and congratulate her...make sure you tell her I sent you!skateorbate.blogspot.com

Has anyone noticed I have learned to put links and photos in a post? I know about time right? Just ignore that photo bucket stuff; I really thought I was all that and tried to put some photos of prizes in there...maybe by next week!

I am reading "Having a Mary Heart in a Martha World" It actually comes with a 12 week workbook. I am enjoying the book and although I am a rather passive person I have been getting rather angry lately over being dis-respected and treated well like a 2 year old. I tried to reach out with this person and kind of agree to disagree and I was hung up on. I am trying really hard to be like Mary..wish me luck!

You all have a positive and productive week!

ReplyDeleteReally great that Michael is doing better!
ReplyDeleteYou have a great weekend too.
I've read Having a Mary Heart... it's an excellent book. Enjoy!
Visiting your blog for the first time from the Over 40 Blog Hop. I spent a good part of my morning coffee time browsing through your blog, reading bits here and there.
ReplyDeleteI'm amazed at the story you are writing about David. What a wonderful way to remember him and to work through grief.
I'm so sorry to hear about Michael's accident, but am so happy that he's doing well. Praying for continued recovery!
Have a nice weekend!
Good news is such a blessing! I'm thrilled that he's really on the way back, too. You have a good weekend, too - and get some rest! I'll check out Mrs. 4444 too!
ReplyDeleteWow you have a very busy and very interesting life. Thank you for the very nice comment on my blog. It gave me some hope. I am so sorry about your brother and I would love to read the entire story. Your granddaughter is beautiful, my daughter's name is Adriana (spelled the same way) didn't want people calling her AdriANNA. Good luck to you with your book, I am looking forward to purchasing it one day and thanks again for leaving me the comment. You really seem like a wonderful person.
ReplyDeleteBy the way I grabbed your button and I am following you too.
Wonderful news and I hope many more come your way.
ReplyDeleteFollowing you from Follow Friday Over 40. I would appreciate it if you could stop over and follow me back. Terry

I did that book as a Bible study a couple years ago. It's great.
ReplyDeleteYeah for Micheal!!
I am glad to hear things are looking up. How exciting for Michael to be out of the hospital. And that your neice found an agent. That isn't easy to do. Maybe it's just as well that the person hung up on you. Sounds like it was a stressful exchange. Perhaps with time, they may come around to your side.
ReplyDeleteYAY! I'm so happy to hear Michael is coming home. Praise God from whom all blessings flow! And congratulations to your niece! Wow, y'all have a lot to celebrate this weekend, huh?
ReplyDeleteI've heard that book you are reading is really great. I think there is a course that goes along with it...or maybe they just made one to go with it at my church???
Well, I'm still praying for you and your precious family! I hope you have a great weekend. Please come by and check out the amazing video I have posted today if you get a chance. It is awesome.

ReplyDeleteThank you for your kind words, Doreen.
ReplyDeleteI love your blog, and I tried to follow you back, but Google won't let me. I've been having problems with that a lot lately. Thanks for your comments on my blog. Your book sounds very interesting. I will put you in my favorites and try to keep up like that.
ReplyDeleteShirleyC.
Such wonderful news all the way around. I love reading your posts.....and you have how many grandchildren? Wow-that's awesome and I would have had to start shopping the day after Christmas for the next year. Brightest Blessings to you~
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you found me! I absolutely want to read your book when it's ready. I'm a memoir junkie and I'm interested in your story.
ReplyDeleteMy husband and I have gone to Daytona for Bike Week and we even did Sturgis one year. That was interesting!
I'd never heard of the bloggers over 40 thing...I love that. Going to check it out.
Yay for new blogging friends :)
Hi Doreen,
ReplyDeleteFollowing you back from follow fridays at over 40 blogs! Thanks for the wonderful comment about my painting, my mom paints just as you said your dad does. I always wanted to paint like my mom but I was too afraid to try until the beginning of this year.
So glad to hear that your son is doing better. That's just the best!
:o)
I'll keep stopping by to say hi, you do write so well, a pleasure to read.
Best,
Jenn from justaddwatersilly.com
You're half way there! Great job on putting links. Now, instead of linking the address, link a single word or title, such as "Kate" or "Mrs.4444" or "here."
ReplyDeleteI think your goal of 300 followers is very doable, and I wish you luck :)
So glad to hear that Michael is making great progress. I'll keep him and his recovery in my prayers.
I am so like Martha--I really need to find that study, "Having a Mary Heart in a Martha World." It sounds good. I just finished reading "One Simple Act" by Debbie Macomber which is a really good book about being extravagantly generous in so many different ways, not just with your wallet! It really got me thinking about serving others more.
ReplyDeleteOh, and I am a new follower now to help you reach your goal!
Stopping by from Mrs4444 Friday Fragments.
I am delighted to read that someone other than myself starts Christmas shopping early. I myself have 4 children and and a house full of nieces, nephews,in laws, mother and countless friends to buy for. By the time its all over and wrapped and under the tree I find I am exhausted.
ReplyDeleteI am delighted to read that you are an author. I wish you much success, writing is an amazing talent. Thank you for stopping by and reading my blog and following me and my journeys.
Please do tell what it is like to be-friend and open your home to a homeless women. Amazing family you must have. Bravo to you and your husband for bringing kindness to others. That deserves an award all onto its self...
Brightest blessings from Teek in Ohio
You invited me to drop by and say hello, so... "Hello".
ReplyDeleteNow I need to read up on what I've been missing.
