Happy Friday Everyone. Welcome to Friday Fragments where I can unload all the little pieces in my mind that cannot fill an entire post. The host of Friday Fragments is the super talented Mrs.4444 and you can find her and join in the fun here:www.halfpastkissintime.com
Because I am over 40; I also participate in the beautiful Java's Follow Friday. You can join in here:http://nevergrowingold.blogspot.com
Okay so this past week my computer crashed 3 times. I knock on something hope it is okay for a couple of weeks until I can get a new one. I still am working on locating all of my photo's.
I was a foster Mom to a little girl 11 years ago. We had her from the time she was 7 weeks until she was 7 1/2. At that time she went back to her Mother briefly then to her father in Minnesota (far from here). We were all devastated and missed her terribly. I found her or she found me on Facebook this week. (Enter 11 years of tears here). I am happy and cannot wait to see her.
Also this past week I found out I have to give up my gall bladder. The doc tells me they will just make a little hole and suck it out. Yeah right; I'm always the 1 in a 1000, but I am going to think positive here and hope for the best.
We will be Trick or Treating with all 11 grand kids on Sunday. I cannot wait to share all the photo's with you. I hope you all have a safe and happy Halloween.
Then comes November!
My contest is still running: for every 10 new followers I will randomly pick a winner from all followers. Good Luck to all and if you are the 2 winners from last week I will get your prizes out to you this week. Congrats.
My little dog Louie has a lump or a something on his neck; vet appointment next Wednesday, I hope it is nothing serious.
I must go now and take Sophie (our homeless woman who is no longer homeless) to the doctors and hopefully have some paper work filled out so we will be able to place her in a nice new home.
Have a great weekend and God Bless!
Favorite quote this day: Forgiving someone takes their power over you back. It is also entertaining to watch them continue to attempt to control you with what is no longer theirs.
"Bristol Stomp" will take readers to the scene of the crime, a horrific, random Road Rage murder that takes place on a quiet, tree lined street in a small Pennsylvania River town.
They say every face in a crowd has a story to tell, this is my story..
The news shows and newspapers all called it 'Road Rage'. To me that sounded like a disease, an affliction that can make you kill. A sorry excuse to take the claw end of a hammer and slam it repeatedly into the skull of a human being. In April of 1999 my little brother passed away. Doesn't passed away sound so gentle, even normal? David's death was neither. It was murder. He was found lying in a strangers driveway in a pool of blood. He had been punched, stomped and beaten over his entire body. I still have so many questions. I wrote this book at first for therapy and then for answers. I have found a few. I mainly realized l lost a brother tragically and senselessly. Like every other face in the crowd I have a story..and I want to share my story with you! PUBLICATION DATE TO BE ANNOUNCED LATE SUMMER/EARLY FALL :)
Hi! I enjoyed catching up with what's been going on with you. Sorry about your computer...bummer! Losing photographs is the worst part.
ReplyDeleteI hope things work out with getting Sophie a new home--so you can enjoy yours more :)
Good luck with the gall bladder removal. I hope you won't be the exception to the rule!
You are a brave woman to take 11 grandkids trick-or-treating! I hope everyone has a great time. Good luck with everything!
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear you have to have your gallbladder out... OUCH!!! I ended up curing mine with herbs but it takes a long time. Quicker to get it sucked out.
ReplyDeleteI am already a follower, just stopped by to say hello.
My first visit here and love reading your post. Will be following too.
ReplyDeleteFriday 40 and over
Reflection
This week mine is a, "Fractured Friday." But that's life, isn't it?
ReplyDeleteMy computer will be gone next week as we are giving up on the crashing wonders of the PC for a new MAC! We added up all the costs and it has cost us more with a PC by far.
That is fabulous about your foster-daughter! Those re-connections are truly gifts. Have a wonderful time getting to know here again.
My gall bladder was bad and came out a few years ago. I can hardly see where they cut to take it out...and mine was not sucked out, it was chipped off my gall bladder! LOL!
Have fun on Halloween, and here's hoping Louie is fine too. Oh, and you're a real blessing to your homeless woman.
So glad to hear Sophie now has her own home :)
ReplyDeleteYou are going to have so much fun trick-or-treating. If you think of it, please email when you post the pics.
That is so AWESOME about the young girl you fostered long ago. I am so happy for you both.
Oh, jeez. Good luck with the gallbladder business!
thanks for stopping by my blog. it's good to catch up with you again. hooray for finding your foster daughter!
ReplyDeleteMy heart is about to burst with joy for you and the no longer little girl that found you on FB. Sometimes technology is wonderful.
ReplyDeleteNot so wonderful when your computer keeps crashing.
Hi Doreen. Thanks for stopping by my blog this afternoon! Hope you and all 11 grandkids have fun trick or treating this Sunday. You sound like a very kind and giving soul...your foster daughter is lucky to have that kind of love in her life! Regards, Shira
ReplyDeleteWhat great fragments - well except the news on the gall bladder! I hope everything goes smoothly. That is fabulous news that you found your foster daughter. How wonderful to get to spend Halloween with all of your grandchildren. That speaks volumes! Congrats!
ReplyDeleteWow. Sorry to hear about your gall bladder. Hope you have a speedy recovery. Hope your dog is OK. Here's to finding Sophie a new home. I think that will be best for your family and for her. You guys were a soft spot for her to land for a bit, and I hope that she's able to appreciate that somewhere deep down. Well, hang in there and here's hoping more good news is around the corner.
ReplyDeleteHi Doreen, I am a new follower. Thanks for stopping by my blog and following. It sounds like you have a lot going on right now. I am sorry to hear about your health issues and will keep you in my prayers. Also so sorry about the bullying issue. My daughter (she's 28) is going through a similar situation. It has really devastated her into stepping back from an adorable fledgling business. I don't know how to help her. I feel your pain. I will lift that situation up as well. I recall the quote "Evil prevails when good men (or women) do nothing," and I think that is why bullies get away with as much as they do. (This next bit is wishful thinking) but there needs to be a revolution of some kind to combat bullying. If we would simply shine a light on the bully so that they cannot do what they do in the dark, it seems like that might help. Too often we shrink from our own greatness, don't you think? Blessings, Janet
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog and leaving a comment! Im so sorry..to hear what happened to your brother.
ReplyDeleteHave a fun Halloween with your Family. =)

Yay for finding your foster daughter! What a tremedous gift and blessing after all these years. I cannot imagine the pain of sharing your home and heart with a child for that many years and to then have them taken away without a word. You will never fully know how you impacted her.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the gall bladder.
And enjoy the Halloween with all the kiddos!
:-)

ReplyDeleteI've had my gall bladder out and really it is a piece of cake...little recovery time too.

Wow, wow, wow.. Kudos on taking in your no longer homeless friend.. The homeless are my PASSION.. I've been making quilts for the homeless for years, tucking in much needed items like toothbrush, tooth paste, baby wipes, etc. I loaded up my 4 kids and off we'd drive to find our people, by way of whatever circumstances, found them huddling in doorways, on benches, etc.
ReplyDeleteAnd trick or treating with 11 grandkids?! Awesome, awesome, awesome! I love it and cannot wait to do it some day - if my kids would start cooperating and giving me some more grandbabies! :)
Love this post and am now stalking you! ;)
And again, thanks for stopping by..

ReplyDeleteand i hope the surgery goes well, adn that you are NOT the 1 in 1000 THIS time. ;)
Thank you so much for stopping by my blog. I was so touched by your post. I hope you will post about your foster daughter when you meet her. I love a happy ending. I am following now as well.
ReplyDeleteLove Lisa xx
Well I hope by now the gallbladder has come out easily, I know from friends who have had it that the new surgery is a breeze so I pray that's what you have or will have.
ReplyDeleteWow, you two are do gooders of the highest order. I used to consider picking up homeless, begging young men when we lived in CA but I never did. Those who always had signs, will work for food, etc. We had an orchard and lots of work to be done in addition to our day jobs. But I feared that I might adopt an axe murderer, doper, or worse and of course Jerry threatened me to never stop and Never pick up those guys. After so much overexposure to them I did get over that urge. Now I can drive on by and not get engaged, an immunity developed over the years, though here in MN we don't see that as much as CA where the weather's better. Don't know if that's a good attitude or not, but it's preservation in a dangerous world.
Hate those computer problems. Scary when going through them. Just got back from PA and catching up on some blogs.
When will you publish the book?
First, I really like your quote at the end of your post. Love it. Computer problems, ugh! I will be thinking good thoughts for you. Your foster daughter finding you on FB is very cool and obviously, she was meant to remain in your life and vice versa. Have fun with your grand kids, so much fun! I will be waiting to see the pics. I only had one trick-or-treater...I was a bit bummed. I hope everything is all good with your dog. I think it is very awesome that you and husband are helping your houseguest (homeless woman). Taking someone into your home like that comes straight from the heart - I am really glad that you shared that.
ReplyDeleteOh, and thanks for visiting my blog via Mrs.4444's Friday Fragments. I am a definitely followers of yours. Have a great week and I look forward to your upcoming posts and pics!
